HSV still looking for new coach, tough match ahead

Hamburger SV still has not replaced its former head coach Michael Oenning. Huub Stevens, who had been in talks with HSV, now coaches Schalke 04 – the upcoming opponent of HSV on match day 8 of this Bundesliga campaign. Dominating FC Bayern Munich will face TSG Hoffenheim this weekend in Sinsheim.


Hamburger Sportverein will head into match day 8 still looking for a new head coach after Michael Oenning was fired almost two weeks ago. Former player Rudolfo Cardoso temporarily took over the function and will be on the sidelines this Sunday again.

HSV will face Schalke 04 who is now coached by Huub Stevens who was in talks with HSV as well but now has replaced Ralf Ragnick who resigned due to health issues.

Hamburg have not won a home game for over seven months and is willing to change that streak backed by their first win this campaign against Stuttgart last week.

FC Bayern Munich is completely dominating this year´s Bundesliga with a six game winning streak with a clean sheet. They will face TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday. Hoffenheim have not managed to win a match against Munich yet.

On Friday night 1. FC Kaiserslautern will encounter VFB Stuttgart on home grounds. Kaiserslautern have not lost more often against any team then Stuttgart after scoring the lead in the first place (six times).

Borussia Dortmund face promoted FC Augsburg after the bitter loss against Olympique Marseille in Champions League on Wednesday. They had several very good attempts but failed to score and “OM” scored three times being super efficient. All in all the defeat could have been avoided.

Augsburg is still looking for its first win in League 1 while BVB have not won two games in a row this campaign.

Bayer Leverkusen lost the last two league games but might have gained some confidence over the week by achieving their first Champions League win this season against RC Genk. This weekend they will play against Wolfsburg. Bayer have won the last four games against Wolfsburg.

On Saturday afternoon Nuremberg will encounter Mainz on home turf and Borussia Moenchengladbach will be received by SC Freiburg. The night game will be Cologne playing in Berlin against Hertha BSC. Cologne won three out of the last four.

On Sunday the next “Nordderby” will take place when Werder Bremen will face Hanover 96. Bremen is undefeated for five games in a row and is currently on rank 2 in chart. Hanover only lost more often against FC Bayern Munich then against Werder.
