A matchday made for Bayern
Matchday ten was made for FC Bayern Munich. Germany´s record title holder beat HSV with 3-0 while the competitors only drew or lost. Frankfurt and Dortmund only played 1-1 and 0-0 against Greuther Fuerth and Stuttgart. Schalke 04 even lost the match against Hoffenheim.
Everything on matchday ten seemed to match with FC Bayern´s expectations as Dortmund, Schalke and Frankfurt did not win while Bayern defeated HSV seemingly easy with 3-0. Hamburg only proved to be a worthy competitor for about 25 minutes and then let Bayern run them over.
The 3-0 in the end was a good result for Hamburg as keeper Rene Adler saved several good shots from Bayern players. Bayern are back to a seven point lead and their goal difference on foreign ground is 15-0 in five matches (five won) so far. In Champions League the match against Lille will take place on Wednesday.
Dortmund and Frankfurt drawing
Borussia Dortmund was the better team in the home game against VFB Stuttgart but failed to score despite several good opportunities. The goalless draw in the end was not enough for BVB and put them back 11 points behind Bayern again on position 4 in chart. Dortmund´s players might have been somewhere else with their heads as they will fight in Madrid against Real on Tuesday for a possible early qualification of the round of 16.
Eintracht Frankfurt only drew 1-1 against Greuther Fuerth on Friday night giving Bayern two points more lead towards them. Bayern´s lead towards Schalke even increased by three points as S04 lost the match against Hoffenheim in last minute with 3-2 after equalizing twice. On Tuesday Arsenal are coming to Schalke in Champions League.
Bayer surpass Dortmund
Bayer 04 Leverkusen won the match against Duesseldorf on Sunday benefitting from Dortmund´s draw and surpassing BVB in chart. Bayer have 18 points now, two points more than Dortmund and nine less than first placed FC Bayern.
Borussia Moenchengladbach drew 1-1 against SC Freiburg, Hanover 96 defeated Augsburg with 2-0, SV Werder Bremen won 2-1 against Mainz 05 and VFL Wolfsburg lost 0-1 in Nuremberg – the first defeat since Lorenz-Guenther Koestner took over the job as the coach.
