All four German teams in round of last 16

The German Champions League season is on a similar good way as the last one with the German final between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern was. All four teams survived group stage and will play in the round of the last 16 after the winter break. Bayer 04 Leverkusen beat Real Sociedad 1:0 on Tuesday and benefited from Manchester United beating Shaktar Donezk while FC Bayern won their group despite their first defeat this season against Manchester City. Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 followed on Wednesday. Schalke beat FC Basel in their own final for survival while BVB kept the tension high with Kevin Großkreutz scoring the important 2:1 winning goal just moments before the end. Dortmund won their group with 12 points same as Arsenal and Napoli with the Italian club being the first one ever not to survive group stage with 12 points to their name. Napoli might face Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League as they surpassed to next round while SC Freiburg failed to do so.
