Argentina after shootout in final
The opponent for Germany on Sunday night in FIFA World Cup final has been found. Argentina beat the Netherlands in a pretty weak match that saw no goals over 120 minutes. During the penalty shootout the Dutch showed some nerves and failed twice. The last final between Germany and Argentina was 1990 with the better end for the Germans.
The final of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil is set. Germany will meet Argentina as the South American team managed to beat the Netherlands in a pretty weak match. After 120 minutes of rather unsensational play no goals had been scored and the penalty shootout had to decide about the winner.
Netherland´s Vlaar missed the very first penalty with a weak and imprecise shot that Romero saved. Messi, Robben and Garay scored the next ones before Wesley Sneijder failed to do so as the Argentinian keeper saved his strong shot to the left upper corner. No Argentinian player failed and so Netherland´s dome was sealed and Argentina will meet Germany on Sunday night in the final. The last final between those two ended 1:0 for Germany in 1990 giving the Germans their most recent World Cup title so far. Netherlands will meet host Brazil in the game for third place on Saturday night.
