Augsburg, Freiburg big winners

FC Augsburg and SC Freiburg both were the teams benefiting the most from matchday 29. Freiburg beat Hanover to tighten position five and putting some pressure on fourth placed Schalke. Augsburg won against Frankfurt in order to get some air in relegation struggle. Bayern and Dortmund meanwhile mastered their side task Bundesliga seemingly easy and in style.

Two teams where the big winners of matchday 29: SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg. The SC won their Friday night match against Hanover 96 with 3-1 to underline their ambitions for Europa League. 45 points and position five was the reward adding that they put some pressure on Schalke 04 (46 points) and might be able to reach for Champions League qualification rounds as well. Schalke only drew 2-2 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in this weekend headliner on Saturday night.

FC Augsburg on the other hand was the big profiteer on the other end of chart. While Fortuna Duesseldorf and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim only drew 2-2 against Werder Bremen and VFL Wolfsburg respectively Augsburg beat Eintracht Frankfurt on late Sunday. FCA (27 p.) have best chances in relegation struggle now as Hoffenheim have 24 points and might even be able to reach out for position 15 as Duesseldorf are only three points away now.

Hamburger SV also benefited from the other opponents weaknesses as they beat a direct competitor for Europa League with Mainz 05 2-1 and have gained 41 points at the moment putting them back in the run for Europa as Borussia Moenchengladbach (41 p.) lost against VFB Stuttgart with 0-2.

Dortmund, Bayern win in style

German champion 2012/2013 FC Bayern Munich and designated second place finisher Borussia Dortmund both mastered their compulsory tasks besides Champions League seemingly easy and in style. Dortmund defeated Greuther Fuerth that can finally plan for League two next year with 6-1 while FC Bayern crushed 1. FC Nuremberg in South Derby with 4-0 despite nine player changes made by Jupp Heynckes.

Dortmund will not have to play under the week and can regenerating before the important first match of Champions League semifinals against Real Madrid the week after while FC Bayern will have to beat VFL Wolfsburg on Tuesday in order to get to the final of DFB Pokal. The week after FCB will meet the other FCB, FC Barcelona, in semifinals of CL.
