Bayern autumn champions, followers unable to win

FC Bayern Munich became autumn champions for the 19th time in Bundesliga this weekend as they beat Hamburger SV with 3:1. The following teams in chart Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Moenchengladbach all failed to win with Leverkusen even loosing against Frankfurt. Munich therefore were able to increase their lead furthermore.


Bayern´s Rafinha assisted the 1:0 of Mandzukic in artistic fashion.

With the 41th game in a row without loosing FC Bayern Munich gained enough points to secure their first position for the winter in German Bundesliga. With 3:1 they beat Hamburger SV enabling them to further increase their lead in chart. The followers all failed to win.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen even lost 0:1 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday letting FC Bayern increase their lead to second place to seven points. Borussia Dortmund on third were two behind against TSG Hoffenheim, managed to come back for the 2:2 but failed to score the winning goal, once more this season despite having several opportunities to do so. Borussia Moenchengladbach on fourth position also drew 0:0 against Mainz. FC Bayern are now leading Dortmund and Gladbach by twelve points already.

Schalke, Wolfsburg winning

The following teams of the followers however managed to win their matches putting the heat up on Gladbach and Dortmund. VfL Wolfsburg beat VfB Stuttgart on late Saturday with 3:1, Schalke had no real problems defeating SC Freiburg with 2:0. Wolfsburg with 29 points and Schalke with 27 points are putting some pressure on Dortmund and Gladbach, each with 32 points to their name.

Hertha BSC Berlin defeated SV Werder Bremen on Friday night already with 3:2 to sustain their seventh place while FC Augsburg are climbing up the chart. The team of Markus Weinzierl is on eight place already after beating recently promoted Eintracht Braunschweig with 4:1.

The last remaining game of matchday 16 saw 1. FC Nuremberg squander their chance of the first win this season. They were 3:0 in the lead against Hanover 96 but only drew 3:3 in the end making them still the last team in Bundesliga to wait for their first win.
