Bayern defeating Turin, BVB only drawing
Both German teams in UEFA Champions League quarterfinals showed strong performance in first leg under the week but only one really benefited. FC Bayern Munich beat Juventus Turin on home grounds with 2-0. Borussia Dortmund dominated the match in Malaga more or less but failed to score ending the match with a goalless draw. Second leg matches will be next Tuesday and Wednesday.
FC Bayern Munich made a huge step towards semifinals of UEFA Champions League after defeating Juventus Turin in first leg of quarterfinals on Tuesday with 2-0. David Alaba had scored the very early lead only 26 seconds into the game and Thomas Mueller set the final score in second half about half an hour before the end. The second leg will be played on next Wednesday.
Borussia Dortmund despite showing a superior performance in Malaga failed to score and let the match end in a goalless draw. Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski had several very good opportunities to score but lacked of final determination in the opponent´s box. The 0-0 is not the best of results seeing the absence of a goal scored on foreign grounds as BVB will have to win the match on Tuesday in Dortmund.
Paris St. Germain surprisingly drew in the home game against FC Barcelona in one of the other two quarterfinals. A late goal secured the 2-2 for the team around Superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Real Madrid played strong in their home match against Galatasaray Istanbul and won 3-0.
