Bayern dominant, Dortmund with crazy victory

FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both made their way to semifinals of UEFA Champions League. While FCB had no real problems defeating Juventus Turin twice with 2-0, Dortmund kept the tension high and won a totally crazy second leg within the last seconds to secure the ticket. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid also made their way to the round of last four. The draw for semifinals will be on 12pm Friday, April 12.

The champions of UEFA Champions League 2012/2013 will be a German or a Spanish team as the last four of the competition are FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. FC Bayern reached that goal rather easily as they defeated Juventus Turin twice with 2-0 never being in trouble at all.

Dortmund´s way to semifinals was not as easy really as they drew goalless in first leg in Malaga and had to win the second match in Dortmund on Tuesday. They failed to put on their usual strong performance in Champions League and played probably their worst match this CL season. They had more of the game though but failed to benefit and Malaga scored with their first opportunity about 20 minutes into the game. Robert Lewandowski equalized for Dortmund just before the break, but in second half their attempts were just not forcing enough and Malaga even scored the 2-1 in minute 81. Despite the fact that it was offside clearly the goal was not even unearned for a strong defending and clever playing Malaga.

Late turn around

BVB coach Juergen Klopp sent on Mats Hummels for the last ten minutes to try it with long shots for Subotic and Santana that were waiting in the opponent´s box. One of the long balls found its way to Marco Reus in minute 91 who equalized the score with three minutes left on the clock. Only 69 seconds later Felipe Santana not only turned the game around with his winning goal but made a whole stadium going nuts. It was one of the craziest games probably in CL history but definitely in BVB´s history. The fact that the 3-2 clearly was offside even twice nobody really seemed to care about – except Malaga and their supporters of course.

The draw for semifinals will be decided on Friday April 12 at 12pm. Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern might play against each other but also might face FC Barcelona or Real Madrid. While Real beat Galatasaray Istanbul rather easily over the two games Barca kept the tension high as the first leg in Paris ended 2-2 and the second match in Barcelona ended 1-1, which was enough for FCB to proceed but far away from a dominant performance.
