Bayern encounters Schalke

On matchday 23 FC Bayern Munich will have to play Schalke 04 on home turf. After a disappointing week for Bayern Germany´s record title holder has to win to stay in touch with leader Dortmund. BVB will play Hanover 96 on late Sunday and Gladbach will face Hamburger SV on Friday night.


Munich´s players are under pressure.

FC Bayern Munich is not on track at the moment. In Bundesliga they are on position 3 four points shy of leading team Dortmund. The first match in Champions-League against Basel for proceeding into quarter finals has been lost with 0-1 on Wednesday.

Now Schalke 04 comes to Munich in Bundesliga motivated by defeating Viktoria Pilsen in Europa-League. With a possible victory S04 would be able to surpass Bayern in chart. Kickoff is Sunday on 3:30 pm.

Current leader Borussia Dortmund will also play on Sunday. They receive Hanover 96 in Dortmund. It is the matchup of the two teams longest unbeaten at the moment. BVB have not lost a game in 16 but the last team to beaten them was Hanover 96 with 2-1.

Already on Friday night Borussia Moenchengladbach will play against Hamburger SV. HSV is on the comeback trail at the moment as they are leaving the lower ranks of the chart. Gladbach have not lost a home game in 14 matches and is motivated to keep up with BVB.

Werder Bremen will try on Saturday night to achieve their first home victory in 2012. The opponent will be Nuremberg. Bayer Leverkusen wants to equalize the shame of the first match against Cologne this season where they lost 1-4 on home turf against the 1. FC.

More games this weekend on Saturday will be: VFB Stuttgart against SC Freiburg, Mainz 05 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, VFL Wolfsburg against 1899 Hoffenheim and the encounter of the two promoted teams FC Augsburg and Hertha BSC Berlin.
