Pep Guardiola is back on top position with his FC Bayern Munich in Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund lost the first match in Bundesliga season 2013/2014. The game in Moenchengladbach was dominated by Dortmund for about 80 minutes only failing to score and being punished in the last ten minutes. After a red card for Mats Hummels with a penalty kick included Max Kruse scored the 1-0 for Gladbach out of the blue in minute 81 and Raffael even increased the lead five minutes later to seal the deal for the team of coach Lucien Favre who had to admit that is was not quite a well-earned victory. Never the less the win put Gladbach on position four in chart with 13 points.

Dortmund on the other hand had to give up first position as FC Bayern surpassed them despite only drawing in Leverkusen. FCB were clearly the better team over 90 minutes but failed to accomplish more than a 1:1 against Bayer. Bayern however are leading the pack now with 20 points while Dortmund and Leverkusen have 19 to their name. Position five and six in chart belong to Hertha BSC Berlin and Hanover 96. The two teams drew 1:1 on Friday night already.

Braunschweig with first victory

Recently promoted Eintracht Braunschweig managed to secure the first victory of the season with a highly passionate performance in the match with VfL Wolfsburg. A 2:0-win was their reward. The other games on Saturday saw VfB Stuttgart and Werder Bremen drawing with 1:1, FSV Mainz 05 and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim also drawing but with 2:2 and FC Schalke having no real problems with FC Augsburg winning 4:1. FCA only were up to a good start scoring the early lead, but after a red card and a penalty lost the grip on the game.

Hamburger SV meanwhile crushed 1. FC Nuremberg on Sunday afternoon with 5:0. Pierre-Michelle Lasogga scored three goals within eight minutes between the 59th and the 67th minute having a huge stock in the victory. It was the first victory for HSV with new head coach Bert van Marwijk n charge. His counterpart Michael Wiesinger was fired as a reaction to the crushing defeat. The last game on matchday eight saw Europa League competitors SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt drawing 1:1. Bundesliga will be back on October 18 to 20 after the break for World Cup qualifier matches.
