The dominance of FC Bayern Munich in German Bundesliga continues in 2014. While FCB won their match against Gladbach with 2:0 on Friday night almost all following teams in chart failed to win their games. Borussia Dortmund drew against Augsburg while Leverkusen and Wolfsburg even lost their matches. From position two to seven in chart only Schalke managed to win. Despite having one game less FCB now leads by ten points already and can make it 13 on Wednesday against Stuttgart.

Mario Goetze scored the important 1:0 against Gladbach.

FC Bayern Munich have one match less than the competition as they had to go win FIFA Team World Cup at the end of 2013. Despite that fact they already lead the pack by ten points with the chance to make it 13 when the rescheduled match against VfB Stuttgart will be taking place on Wednesday. This weekend they defeated Borussia Moenchengladbach with 2:0. FCB were the better team overall and played rather dominant for most of the match but still they invited Gladbach here and there to create dangerous situations.

The following teams in chart almost all failed to succeed on Saturday. Borussia Dortmund was in front twice against FC Augsburg but the only two shots on goal by FCA hit the back of the net, resulting in a 2:2 draw. The 2:2 was scored by Dong Wong-Ji who will play for BVB beginning in summer. Bayer 04 Leverkusen also were in the lead twice, but the team of coach Sami Hyypiä even managed to lose against SC Freiburg as Felix Klaus scored in minute 90 for the 3:2 win.

Korkut with strong premiere

New head coach of Hanover 96 Tayfun Korkut got rid of the team´s grudge to lose on foreign grounds as he won his first match in charge with 3:1 against VfL Wolfsburg on their home turf after eight losses away straight. Eintracht Frankfurt meanwhile also broke a run as they managed to win their first match at home for 266 days. Meyer scored the winning goal against Hertha BSC Berlin.

The only team of the positions two to seven that was able to win was FC Schalke 04. On late Saturday afternoon they beat rather poorly playing Hamburger SV with 3:0 in Imtech Arena in Hamburg. The victory puts Schalke on position five in chart.

First victory for Nuremberg

Another series came to an end on matchday 18 as 1. FC Nuremberg won their first match this season. Against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim the Club, as they are called, scored four times to secure the 4:0 victory. Meanwhile on Sunday afternoon SV Werder Bremen and Eintracht Braunschweig drew 0:0 and 1. FSV Mainz 05 beat VfB Stuttgart with 2:1 after being one behind on Saturday afternoon.
