Bayern winning top clash

FC Bayern Munich have won the most anticipated match of this Bundesliga season so far. Against Borussia Dortmund, their former opponent in UEFA Champions League final, FCB won 3:0 to secure their first position in chart furthermore. They now lead Dortmund by seven points and Leverkusen, that surpassed Dortmund by defeating Berlin, by four.

FC Bayern Munich was unable to beat Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga for the last three years before Saturday night. On matchday 13 FC Bayern beat BVB with 3:0 despite a match on an eye-to-eye level for most of the 90 minutes. Dortmund had the better chances overall with Bayern having more of the game. In Signal-Iduna-Park Mario Goetze of all people scored the important first goal against his former employer in minute 66. He had been sent to the field just minutes earlier with the crowd booing the 21-year-old heavily. Dortmund had several good opportunities to equalize, but they failed and Robben and Mueller decided the game just five and four minutes before the end.

With this win FCB are securing their first position further more now leading Dortmund by seven points and Bayer Leverkusen, that beat Hertha BSC Berlin with 1:0, by four. Borussia Moenchengladbach on position four put up the pressure on Dortmund on Friday night already. Gladbach beat Stuttgart with 2:0 and are now sitting three points shy of the other Borussia in chart.

Hamburg winning North Derby

On Sunday the North Derby between the two HSV of the league, Hamburg and Hanover, took place. Hanover were up to the better start scoring the lead, but Hamburg turned things around with the goals of Badelj, Beister and Calhanoglu to win 3:1. FSV Mainz 05 also won on Sunday in Bremen against Werder with 3:2. Mainz were in the lead with 3:0 but Bremen got two back very late in the game.

Already on Saturday afternoon Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Schalke 04 played a crazy match ending 3:3. Schalke was 2:0 in the lead before Frankfurt came back and turned the game around with three goals before Schalke equalized for the final result. The encounter of two teams in relegation struggle, Eintracht Braunschweig and SC Freiburg, saw Freiburg win 1:0. More games on Saturday were the 1:1-draw of 1. FC Nuernberg and VfL Wolfsburg as well as the 2:0-victory of FC Augsburg against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
