BVB can fix title against Gladbach
Current German champion Borussia Dortmund is in position to defend their title already on matchday 32. If FC Bayern will not win in Bremen, BVB´s title would be fixed. Otherwise they would have to win against Gladbach on Saturday night to secure their eighth title.
Borussia Dortmund most certainly will be German champion 2011/2012. The only question is when the title will be official. This weekend Juergen Klopp´s team has pretty good chances to secure the defending of the title. If FC Bayern will not win in Bremen, BVB´s title would be fixed. Putting the fact in perspective that the match for FCB is only a rather irrelevant game between the two matches against Real Madrid, a draw or victory of Bremen is not unlikely.
Otherwise a victory over Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday night would secure the eighth title of Dortmund´s history. Gladbach would need the points in order to put some pressure on third placed FC Schalke 04. The current gap between them is only one point and S04 have lost the last two.
On Sunday afternoon Schalke will have to play FC Augsburg. The promoted team is pretty close to having avoided relegation but still needs points in order to do so as 1. FC Cologne is only four points behind them on position 16 in chart.
Hanover 96 could make a big leap towards Europa League on Sunday night against SC Freiburg. SCF is not in urgent danger of relegation struggle with 36 points but 96 could defend their current position seven in chart which would enable them to play Europa Leaguen next season.
Hoffenheim´s last hopes for Europe are still alive as they will face Bayer 04 Leverkusen and could close the gap between the two clubs up to one point.
Already on Friday night Wolfsburg and Mainz will encounter. Two teams with no real ambitions in chart anymore. Mainz are with 37 points right in the middle of nowhere and Wolfsburg´s hopes for Europe are only marginal.
Hamburger SV´s relegation struggle is all but over already but they might need 1-2 points to silence the last pessimist. In the match against a currently strong playing 1. FC Nuremberg this maybe will not be the easiest task.
Hertha BSC have a good chance to surpass 1. FC Cologne this weekend. Otto Rehagel´s team will face the all but relegated 1. FC Kaiserslautern while Cologne will encounter strong VFB Stuttgart. VFB is on a big roll at the moment climbing up in chart securing playing in Europa League next season.
