BVB extends lead as FCB draws in Freiburg
Dortmund had a lot of work with Berlin this weekend but booked three points in the end. They extended their lead as Bayern did not manage to achieve more than a goalless draw in Freiburg. Gladbach also benefited and surpassed Bayern in chart.
Borussia Dortmund did not dominate the game against promoted Hertha BSC Berlin. In fact Berlin encountered BVB in an eye to eye match, but Kevin Großkreutz decided the game with his winning goal.
With those three points Dortmund was able to extend the lead as Bayern only chopped the points with Freiburg. Borussia Moenchengladbach also benefited from that game as they won 2-1 against Kaiserslautern and surpassed Bayern in chart.
Schalke 04 did not let any doubt come up who was in charge against Wolfsburg. Huub Steven´s team crushed VFL with 4-0. S04 are now one point shy of Bayern on position 4 in chart.
The “Nordderby” between Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen was a tense match and a big fight. Bremen scored the deciding 3-1 minutes before the end.
On Friday night the match between 1899 Hoffenheim and Mainz ended in a 1-1-draw. Bayer 04 Leverkusen crushed Augsburg with 4-1.
1. FC Nuremberg defeated 1. FC Cologne with 2-1. Thomas Pekhart scored the winning goal in minute 85.
The final game of the matchday was Hanover 96 against VFB Stuttgart. Hanover played very well and was 4-0 in the lead after about 60 minutes. VFB fought back over the last 30 minutes but the wakeup-call came too late as the match ended 4-2.
