BVB, FCB on track, S04 surpass Gladbach
Three of the four top teams of German Bundesliga won their games this weekend. Dortmund crushed Cologne 6-1, Bayern defeated Hanover with 2-1, Schalke beat Leverkusen with 2-0 but Gladbach lost their match against Hoffenheim 1-2 although they were 1-0 in the lead.
FC Bayern Munich put some pressure on leading team Dortmund on Saturday as they won their home game against Hanover 96 with 2-1. Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez scored for Bayern. Dortmund however answered in style as they crushed 1. FC Cologne on late Sunday with 6-1.
Milevoje Novakovic had scored the early lead for Cologne but Lukas Piszczek´s header equalized his goal only ten minutes later. After the break Dortmund turned up the heat and Cologne was unable to fight back. Twice Shinji Kagawa, Robert Lewandowski, Ilkay Gündogan and Ivan Perisic scored for BVB.
Dortmund is still leading second placed FCB with five points but Borussia Moenchengladbach is no longer on position three in chart. Gladbach failed to secure a 1-0-lead against Hoffenheim and was beaten by Markus Babbel´s team with 2-1.
Schalke 04 defeated Leverkusen in this week´s headliner with 2-0 thanks to two goals of their star forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. S04 are leading Gladbach with two points now.
SC Freiburg continued this weekend to gain points to fight relegation as they defeated last placed Kaiserslautern with 2-0. They jumped from position 16 to 13 in chart but Kaiserslautern on the other hand is on a devastating last place missing six points compared to 17th placed Berlin.
Hertha BSC won in Mainz with 3-1 and are only one point shy of 15th placed Augsburg. FCA equalized the score in Bremen literally in the last minute to gain one point surpassing Hamburger SV. HSV is back on the lower rank of the chart as they lost their Friday night match in Wolfsburg with 1-2 and are now on position 16 again.
VFB Stuttgart defeated 1. FC Nuremberg on Sunday afternoon thanks to Cacao´s late goal.
