BVB, Schalke lead after victories
Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 have both taken the lead in each their group by winning big matches on Wednesday. S04 beat Arsenal in London with 2-0 while BVB managed to defeat Real Madrid in Dortmund with 2-1. FC Bayern Munich already won their match on Tuesday against Lille with 1-0. Three teams in Bayern´s group F have six points each now. More results of matchday three in UEFA Champions League are listed below the text.

Borussia Dortmund have won the very important match against Real Madrid in Champions League. With a strong team performance and a lot of will power the German champion beat the Spanish one with 2-1 on home turf. Robert Lewandowksi (36th minute) scored the lead after a struggling beginning for BVB. Dortmund had more of the game at that point and was about to earn the lead properly but Mesut Oezil´s brilliant long ball found the foot of Christiano Ronaldo (38th) who equalized just two minutes after the leading goal.
Dortmund played better in second half gaining momentum and creating a couple of opportunities that were missed by Reus and Goetze. Left wing defender Marcel Schmelzer made it better though finding the back of the net in minute 64 with a strong left footed shot.
The well earned victory made Dortmund leading team in the strong group D with seven points. Real Madrid is second with six followed by Ajax Amsterdam with three and disappointing Manchester City with only one point so far. The next match for Dortmund will be against Real Madrid in Spain in two weeks.
Schalke winning in London
Schalke 04 also won their match against a big opponent. In London Huub Steven´s team defeated Arsenal with 2-0. Schalke was the better team overall but failed to create enough danger for most of the time.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (76th) finally scored the lead fifteen minutes before the end. His fellow country man Ibrahim Affelay (86th) increased the lead and set the final score a couple of minutes later. Schalke´s is in the same position as Dortmund now leading group B with seven points, followed by Arsenal with six, Piraeus with three and Montpellier with one. Next match will be again against Arsenal but this time on home territory.
Bayern scoring in Lille
FC Bayern Munich also won their match on Tuesday already. In Lille Jupp Heynckes´ team played rather unimpressive but Thomas Mueller´s penalty goal in minute 20 did the job. The 1-0 victory put them on position three in chart although they have the same amount of points as Valencia and Borisov. Next game will be against Lillie in Munich in two weeks.
