BVB takes lead in Bundesliga
Current champion Borussia Dortmund has taken the lead in German Bundesliga. BVB won the prestigious “Revierderby” against Schalke 04 with 2-0. Dortmund surpassed Bayern in chart as Germany´s record title holder lost 2-3 in Mainz. Borussia Moenchengladbach is on place two now as they defeated Cologne with 3-0.
FC Bayern Munich dropped from leading position to place 3 in chart. Germany´s record title holder lost 2-3 against Mainz 05 on late Sunday and was surpassed by Dortmund and Gladbach. Two goals of Daniel Van Buyten were not enough as Mainz scored three times.
Dortmund won the prestigious duell against Schalke 04 with 2-0. Robert Lewandowski and Felipe Santana scored for the black and yellow dressed team. BVB now have 29 points and lead the pack in Bundesliga.
Right behind them only separated by the goal difference are Borussia Moenchengladbach. The most surprising team of this year has won its match against Cologne with 3-0. At no point of the game there was any doubt that Gladbach was in charge.
The match between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hertha BSC Berlin was a true fight as the leading team changed two times. First Berlin was up to a good start by scoring twice but Bayer´s Eren Derdiyok managed to make a hattrick to turn the game around. A couple of minutes before the end Pierre-Michel Lasogga made his second goal to equalize the game, end result 3-3.
Werder Bremen also stayed in touch with the leading teams as they defeated VFB Stuttgart with 2-0. They are on position four in chart and will have to face third placed Bayern next week as leader Dortmund will encounter second placed Gladbach.
Promoted FC Augsburg achieved their first home victory as they won the duell against VFL Wolfsburg with 2-0.
