For Chile the win meant qualifying for the round of 16.

They will be joined their by the Netherlands as the team of Lois van Gaal beat Australia 3:2 despite being one behind. Netherland had been in the lead before Cahill equalized with a perfect direct shot and a penalty by Jedinak turned things around for Australia. Holland fought back into the game and turned it around themselves to win 3:2 and not only kick Australia out of the competition but securing their own ticket for next round.

The night match saw Croatia preserving their chances of surviving group stage as they crushed Cameroon 4:0. The Bundesliga players Olic, Perisic and twice Mandzukic scored the goals while Cameroon had to play with one man less for most of the match after a violent conduct of Song against Mandzukic.
