Borussia Dortmund have won the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin. They crushed FC Bayern with 5-2 and secured both German titles, championship and DFB-Pokal, for the first time in the history of the club.

Already three minutes into the game Shinji Kagawa scored the first goal for BVB. Two unacceptable mistakes by Luis Gustavo had happened before Jakub “Kuba” Blaszczykowski assisted Kagawa´s leading goal. The future of the Japanese Striker in Dortmund is still not clear but it looks like he is going to leave the club heading to England´s Premier League.

FC Bayern put up the heat after the early deficit. In minute 25 Dortmund´s keeper Roman Weidenfeller fouled Mario Gomez in the box and Arjen Robben equalized the score with the penalty. Weidenfeller was already injured and had to be substituted minutes later.

The true fight started as both teams had several good opportunities. Jerome Boateng fouled Kuba in minute 41 to equalize the penalty score and Mats Hummels shot the renewed lead for Dortmund. FCB keeper Manuel Neuer was close to saving Hummel´s penalty but eventually did not get it.

Just before the break Robert Lewandowski scored the 3-1 after a very well timed pass from Kagawa in a counter attack situation. In Minute 58 it was once again the Polish Forward who scored after Kevin Großkreutz´ pass. His shot from ten meters was unsaveable for Manuel Neuer.

FC Bayern fought back a little bit and Franck Ribery managed to shot the 2-4 after a strong dribble move but another horrible mistake in Bayern defense settled the deal for BVB.

Manuel Neuer lost a ball he already had save to Lukas Piszczek who reacted fast and pass the ball to his fellow national team mate Lewandowski. BVB´s most successful striker of the season headed the 5-2 into the net.

Dortmund´s players and supporters were tumbling in pure joy after the referee whistled for the final blow. FC Bayern on the other hand will have to stay focused for the next finale next Saturday. The will have the chance to win the Champions League on home turf against Chelsea London.
