Borussia Dortmund have defeated FC Bayern Munich in the first officially scheduled match of the season. In Supercup, the match between national champion and cup winner, BVB beat FC Bayern with 4-2 grabbing the first trophy of the campaign. This weekend first round of DFB Pokal will take place. From Friday night till Monday the mostly smallish third and fourth league clubs will try and surprise some of the top teams.

Marco Reus scored twice for his BVB in final of Supercup against FC Bayern Munich.

The first title in German football season 2013/2014 goes to Borussia Dortmund. In a strong match with FC Bayern Munich in Supercup with both teams playing aggressive and creating a lot of action in each other´s boxes BVB defeated the current Champions League winner with 4-2. Marco Reus twice and Ilkay Guendogan scored for Dortmund with the help of an own goal by Daniel Van Buyten. Arjen Robben who was consecutively booed in Signal-Iduna-Park over the full 90 minutes scored the two goals for his club.

FC Bayern Munich last year broke the non-winning-streak against the big rival BVB in Supercup, so despite it´s marginal sportive relevance the competition might have some psychological value for the winning team. The season will show how big this boost for BVB might end up to be. This weekend however the first “real” matches will take place with all teams involved when the DFB Pokal starts. From Friday night to Monday night the mostly smallish third and fourth league clubs will try and surprise some of the top teams. The schedule is listed below:
