FCB marches on, BVB only drawing in Hanover
Borussia Dortmund dropped two points in Hanover as they only played 1-1 in a very strong match. FC Bayern marches from victory to victory in Bundesliga defeating Hoffenheim with 2-0. The two surprise teams of the season promoted Frankfurt and Duesseldorf both have to cope with their first defeat while FC Augsburg finally managed to win the first match this campaign.
Borussia Dortmund dropped two points in Hanover due to a late goal of Diouf (86th minute) that equalized Robert Lewandowski´s (26th) lead. BVB played a strong first half but failed to put enough pressure on Hanover. In second half the home team improved and took control of the action resulting in several opportunities. The result was fair in the end leaving Dortmund with 12 points already nine points behind FC Bayern Munich.
Bayern won their home game against Hoffenheim with 2-0 leaving TSG now chances whatsoever. Franck Ribery (19th, 47th) scored twice for his team enabling them to win seven out of seven in Bundesliga so far. One more victory would set a new all time record Germany. The team enjoyed the “Oktoberfest” in Munich after their victory.
Frankfurt and Duesseldorf with first defeats
Most surprising team of the season Eintracht Frankfurt that has not lost a match before matchday seven and even winning all but one has to cope with its first defeat now. Borussia Moenchengladbach won the match on home territory with 2-0. Juan Arango (8th) put his team in the lead with a beautiful long-range shot and Luuk de Jong (24th) increased.
Frankfurt is still on position two in chart despite the first loss. The other surprising promoted team Fortuna Duesseldorf was a little less successful so far but also unbeaten. Mainz 05 ended their run on Saturday thanks to Noveski´s (85th) late only goal.
Schalke 04 is right behind Frankfurt on position three with 14 points. Huub Steven´s team beat VFL Wolfsburg 3-0 leaving no doubt over 90 minutes who was in charge. Farfan (33th), Afellay (46th) and Neustaedter (58th) scored for S04.
Augsburg winning first match of season
FC Augsburg were the only still to win the first match this campaign heading into matchday seven. In the Friday night match against Bremen they showed a very strong performance defeating Werder with 3-1.
The match between VFB Stuttgart and Bayer 04 Leverkusen ended in a 2-2 draw on late Sunday. Kießling (12th, 59th) and Ibisevic (19th, 55th) both scored twice during the game.
Hamburger SV booked the next victory although it was again a lucky one. Son (17th) scored the early lead after a beautiful run through Greuther Fuerth´s defence. HSV was unable to put enough pressure on Fuerth after that and played well below their abilities. Fuerth could not score either and a weak Bundesliga match ended 1-0 for HSV. Hamburg have ten points now while Fuerth is new bottom club.
Freiburg ending bad run
SC Freiburg stopped their negative run against 1. FC Nuremberg winning with 3-0 thanks to the goals of Maikiadi (36th), Caligiuri (90th+2) and Terrazzino (90th+3). Most of the match was pretty intense in cause of the small lead up to minute 90+2
Next week European Championship qualifiers will force Bundesliga to make a one week break. The Bundesliga will be back at the Weekend from Oktober 19th to 21th. One of the matches will be the highly anticipated encounter of Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04.
