First crises looming

Hamburger SV and FC Schalke 04 have their first crises looming as they only managed to gain one point of the first three matches. Only Freiburg, Stuttgart and Berlin have scored equally badly during the start of the season. The coaches Jens Keller and Mirko Slomka are the center of the critic and might fear an early exit from their positions. Dortmund and Bayern meanwhile beat their opponents Freiburg and Stuttgart to stay in touch with first placed Leverkusen.

Mirko Slomka´s future at the Hamburger SV might be in danger.

FC Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV have missed the opportunity for a good start to the season as they both only gained one point so far with Schalke being kicked out of the DFB Pokal in first round and HSV not scoring one goal so far. On Saturday Schalke got crushed 1:4 against Gladbach while HSV showed a very weak performance and lost 0:2 against Hanover. Both coaches, Jens Keller and Mirko Slomka, could be candidates for the first head coach dismissal of the season pretty soon.

Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern meanwhile won their matches against SC Freiburg and VfB Stuttgart to stay in touch with first placed Leverkusen. Dortmund´s 3:1-victory came with big help of new-arrival Shinji Kagawa who scored one goal himself and build-up another. FC Bayern did not play as dominant as expected but won 2:0 thanks to goals of Goetze and Ribery.

Strong Friday night match

The match on Friday night to kick of the action between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Werder Bremen was a pretty crazy one as Werder turned a 0:1 into a 2:1 before Leverkusen turned the match to 3:2 again and Bremen equalizing just before the end. Leverkusen have seven points same as Bayern and Hanover and lead the way followed by Dortmund with six points.

More games this weekend featured VfL Wolfsburg drawing 1:1 with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Hertha BSC Berlin losing 1:3 against 1. FSV Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg beating Eintracht Frankfurt 1:0 as well as the goalless draw between the two recently promoted teams SC Paderborn and 1. FC Cologne.
