First-placed Bayern against last-placed Bremen
The matches between FC Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen have a lot of history in Bundesliga, but the rivalry between them has lessened over the years. On matchday eight in Bundesliga Bayern as first-placed team will receive Bremen on last position in chart. Dortmund meanwhile will hope some key player´s return can bring back the success as they face Cologne. Hamburg are receiving Hoffenheim, Leverkusen will be guest in Stuttgart and Gladbach in Hanover.
The matches between FC Bayern and Werder Bremen have not been on an eye-to-eye level anymore for years now.
When FC Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen will meet this Saturday it will be the 97th time in Bundesliga. Not many matches have more history than the one of those two Bundesliga teams. The rivalry between them however is mostly a thing of the past. While FC Bayern sit on first place in chart, Werder Bremen are still to win their first match this season and are currently on position 18.
Borussia Dortmund meanwhile will hope for the returning three players Mkhitaryan, Reus and Guendogan to bring back the success. BVB´s start to the season has failed as the only have seven points from seven matches and sit on position 13. Against 1. FC Cologne on Saturday of the three Mkhitaryan might have the best chances for an appearance in the starting eleven.
Leverkusen in Stuttgart
Bayer 04 Leverkusen will play in Stuttgart. The VfB are still on position 16 while the Factory Squad sit on fourth place behind Hoffenheim and Gladbach. The Borussia will meet Hanover 96 while Hoffenheim, surprisingly on second place at the moment, will face Hamburg on Sunday. The HSV will try to keep their positive trend up as they won their first match this season last matchday against Dortmund. The other Sunday match will take place between SC Paderborn and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The further games of the Saturday will be 1. FSV Mainz 05 against FC Augsburg as well as SC Freiburg against VfL Wolfsburg before the night match on Saturday will see FC Schalke 04 receive Hertha BSC Berlin. It will be the first match for Schalke´s new head coach Roberto Di Matteo after he followed Jens Keller last week.
