Frankfurt looking to continue run against HSV
Recently promoted Eintracht Frankfurt have started into Bundesliga perfectly: Two victories in two matches having only Munich to have surpassed them in chart in cause of better goal difference. Now Hamburger SV one of four clubs that have not yet earned a single point this campaign is coming to Frankfurt. Bayern will need to beat Mainz in order to stay on the winning streak and Dortmund encounter Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Frankfurt´s coach Armin Veh could not have planned it any better. His promoted team started into the 2012/2013 season of German Bundesliga with two victories in a row. First they beat Leverkusen 2-1 and then they really crushed Hoffenheim with 4-0 on matchday 2. Now after the break for World Cup qualifiers the third matchday lies ahead.
Hamburger SV will come to Frankfurt and try to end their run and find some momentum themselves. HSV is one of only four teams in Bundesliga with zero points and already out of competition in DFB Pokal. Frankfurt in their current condition might not be the best opponent to do so at the moment but we will see if Thorsten Fink´s team can turn things around on Sunday.
Bayern Munich are also on a little winning streak since the season started and the club will be looking to continue the run against Mainz 05 on Saturday afternoon. Martinez who was transferred for 40 million euros to FCB might have his first chance of being part of the starting eleven.
Borussia Dortmund will face Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the same time trying to continue their period of unbeaten games in a row which is currently at 30 matches. The last Bundesliga match against Nuremberg ended 1-1 leaving Dortmund with four points. Leverkusen lost the first match against Frankfurt but won on matchday two against Freiburg.
Borussia Moenchengladbach will play against 1.FC Nuremberg. Both teams have four points and 2-1 goal difference and sharing the statistic of not yet having been able to score a goal out of the game. Both their successful attempts each were following set-plays.
VFB Stuttgart will try and make up for the 1-6-debacle against Munich last matchday. On Saturday they will encounter Fortuna Duesseldorf. Stuttgart have not yet scored a single point, Duesseldorf have four.
Hanover 96 is quiet confident after their 4-0 win against VFL Wolfsburg in Nordderby. This weekend the next Nordderby is ahead as Bremen coming to Hanover. Werder themselves won the Nordderby against HSV last matchday.
Greuther Fuerth´s coach Mike Bueskens will encounter “his” club on Saturday night as Schalke 04 is coming to Fuerth. Bueskens was in duty for Schalke as a coach and player from 1992 to 2009 winning the UEFA Cup 1997.
VFL Wolfsburg will encounter FC Augsburg on Friday night. Felix Magath´s team is looking to make up for the 0-4 loss against 96 on matchday two and FCA look like the right opponent to do so as they have still to earn their first point this campaign.
The fourth and final team with zero points still is TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. They will encounter SC Freiburg on Sunday. SCF only have one point more and therefore have not been quite successful either so far.
