German final set

Both German teams in UEFA Champions League made their way to the final on May 25. Borussia Dortmund beat Real Madrid and FC Bayern Munich crushed FC Barcelona – both Spanish teams widely considered to be the best in the world – in semi-finals under the week.


Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich will meet in Champions League final in Wembley on May 25

The champion of UEFA Champions League 2012/2013 will be a German team. The final in Wembley on May 25 will take place between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich. Both surpassed to the final with well-earned victories over the two best Spanish teams, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Borussia made the start on Tuesday against Madrid. After crushing the team of coach Jose Mourinho one week earlier with 4-1 in Dortmund a 0-2-loss was enough to surpass to the final. A strong BVB keeper Weidenfeller and a strong play against the ball made sure the score was 0-0 for most of the match but Real scored twice within the last ten minutes to turn the last seconds of the game into a thriller. In the end it was enough for Dortmund to secure the second final of CL after 1997, where they won the title. Mario Goetze got injured after 15 minutes and his appearance in final is not sure at the moment.

Bayern crushing Barca

FC Bayern Munich really crushed Barcelona in two matches. After winning the first leg with 4-0 they did not need to win in Camp Nou, but did so anyhow. Goals of Robben and Mueller as well as an own goal of Pique enabled them to win 3-0 in the second leg really crushing the team widely considered to be the best in the world.

On Saturday in Bundesliga Juergen Klopp and Jupp Heynckes will each have the chance to study the opposite team closely when they meet in regular season play. Both have already reached their campaign goals but when the two best German teams meet in the “El Clasico” of Germany it will be about more then three points, it will be about pride.
