FC Bayern Munich is still number one in German Bundesliga but the big lead has shrunk a bit due to their loss on home turf against Dortmund. BVB´s young star-midfielder Mario Goetze scored for his team in minute 65 and secured the 1-0 win for Dortmund. The current champion is now two points behind FCB in chart on second place.

Right behind Dortmund is Borussia Moenchengladbach. The surprise team of this campaign crushed Werder Bremen with 5-0. Three goals were scored by young Marco Reus.

It was the matchday of dominating performances as Wolfsburg won 4-1 against Hanover and Schalke demolished Nuremberg with 4-0.

On Friday night Bayer 04 Leverkusen had already won their game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern with 2-0. Michael Ballack had scored the lead just after the break and Sidney Sam shot the deciding goal in minute 70.

The game between SC Freiburg and Hertha BSC Berlin ended in a 2-2-draw and Stuttgart won their home game against Augsburg with 2-1.

HSV-Coach Thorsten Fink finally managed to win his first Bundesliga match as his team won 2-0 against Hoffenheim. HSV is now for the first time this season out of the relegation places in chart.

The matchday was overshadowed by a tragic event. The fixture between 1. FC Cologne and Mainz 05 has been called off and will have to be rescheduled for a later date, due to unfortunate events unrelated to football.

Match referee Babak Rafati was reportedly discovered in his hotel room after a suicide attempt. Rafati survived, but the league did not feel that it was appropriate to continue with the fixture.
