Hamburger Sportverein after six matches in German Bundesliga had the worst start to a season in club´s history. Only one point and the last rank of the chart was not enough for HSV management´s requirements. Coach Michael Oenning had to go and former HSV player Rudolfo Cardoso preliminarily took over the function. On Friday night HSV then won their first match of this campaign by defeating Stuttgart. VFB´s Martin Harnik had scored the lead for Stuttgart in first half and HSV´s Jeffrey Bruma and Robert Tesche turned around the game to 2-1 for Hamburg.
Current title holder Borussia Dortmund ended their dry period as well by defeating Mainz 05 with 2-1. Lukasz Piszczek scored the last second goal in Minute 90 to secure the win. Werder Bremen also won their match with a last minute strike by Claudio Pizarro who scored twice. Bremen defeated Berlin with 2-1 after Adrian Ramos had scored an early lead for Hertha.
FC Schalke 04 had to let go their head coach Ralf Ragnick last week as he resigned due to health issues. The team however did not seem impressed by the surprising developments at all as they defeated SC Freiburg with 4-2. Recently promoted Augsburg achieved a draw on home turf against Hanover 96.
VFL Wolfsburg and Borussia Moenchengladbach won their home games with 1-0 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and respectively Nuremberg. 1. FC Cologne continued where they left last week when they crushed Bayer Leverkusen with 4-1 on their home turf by winning 2-0 against TSG Hoffenheim.
Leverkusen itself had no chance at all in the top match against FC Bayern Munich on late Saturday. Germany´s record title holder controlled the game from the beginning scored the early lead in person of Thomas Mueller and never looked back. Daniel van Buyten via free kick and Superstar Arjen Robben completed the 3-0 end result. Bayern is now leading the pack in Germany with 18 point and only one goal received.
