Lautern kick out Leverkusen
1. FC Kaiserslautern, one of the more promising aspirants of second league when it comes to promotion to Bundesliga, managed to beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen out of DFB Pokal to surpass to semi-finals. Alongside Lautern Dortmund, Bayern and Wolfsburg all got the ticket for the round of the last four.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen are current number two in German Bundesliga but have been kicked out of the competition in DFB Pokal under the week against a second league team. 1. FC Kaiserslautern beat the Factory Squad with 1:0 in overtime and even left out a penalty kick. All in all it was a well-earned victory for a strong playing Lautern.
Meanwhile Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich also made their way to semi-finals. Munich had quite the easy evening as the crushed Hamburger SV with 5:0. Dortmund had some more problems as they only beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1:0 thanks to a late goal of Aubameyang in a close match with the luckier end for BVB.
The fourth game took place between TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and VfL Wolfsburg with the team from Lower-Saxony having the better end as they beat Hoffenheim 3:2 in Sinsheim. The semi-finals will be played on April 15/16 with FC Bayern Munich facing 1. FC Kaiserslautern while Dortmund meet Wolfsburg.
