Munich seal the deal

Now it is official: FC Bayern Munich are the champions of German Bundesliga season 2012/2013. After beating Frankfurt 1-0 Jupp Heynckes´ team will be the earliest championship winner in the history of German football. Dortmund also won their match against Augsburg while Leverkusen only drew in the game with Wolfsburg. HSV failed to make up for the shameful loss against Munich last week as they were defeated by Freiburg and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim fight their way back to relegation struggle by beating Duesseldorf with 3-0.


Bayern´s executive floor was highly entertained in perspective of the achievements in Bundesliga his year.

It was only a question of time, now the question has been answered. FC Bayern Munich won the German championship 2012/2013. The team beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 on Saturday earning the needed three points to seal the deal earlier than ever in Bundesliga´s 50-year-long history. An eleven games winning streak, a staggering 20-point-lead towards second place and a dominating season performance that seeks its kind vainly are just a small choosing of the astonishing achievements Bayern can look back at. Now the focus of Munich will be surely on the UEFA Champions League and the second leg of quarterfinals on Wednesday in Turin against Juventus.

Borussia Dortmund, also still in the competition for Europe´s football crown, defeated FC Augsburg at the same time. After an early lead Augsburg used 90 second just before the break to turn things around against the second string of BVB. Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp sent in some of his more classy models just minutes into second half which revived Borussia´s game. Lewandowski assisted at the equalizer and Goetze gave the ball in that put Dortmund in the lead again. At the end of the Match Lewandowski even scored himself to maintain chances of breaking German legend Gerd Mueller´s goal scoring record. Mueller scored in 16 games straight, the Polish forward is on second place now with 10.

Leverkusen leaving points, HSV failing to make up

Third placed Bayer 04 Leverkusen only drew 1-1 in the match with VFL Wolfsburg putting Dortmund on a very comfortable second place with a six-point-gap and encouraging Schalke 04 to reach out for direct qualification for Champions League next year. S04 won 2-0 in Bremen and no sit four points behind Leverkusen. Hamburger SV wanted to make up for the shameful 2-9-loss against Munich last week heading into the match with SC Freiburg, but failed to satisfy their expectation as they lost 0-1 on home turf.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim beat Fortuna Duesseldorf on Friday already with 3-0 catapulting themselves up only one point shy of Augsburg and the 16th place. More results on matchday 28 were: Borussia Moenchengladbach – Greuther Fuerth 2-0, 1. FC Nuremberg – FSV Mainz 05 2-1 and Hanover 96 – VFB Stuttgart 0-0.
