Munich will take first place into winter break
After a close 2-1-win against only ten Stuttgart players FC Bayern Munich is going to be number one in Bundesliga for the winter. Dortmund only ended up chopping the points against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and is three points behind Munich with the much worse goal difference.
FC Bayern Munich took advantage a sloppy performance of Borussia Dortmund as the current champion ended up in a draw against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on home turf.
Munich won the game against Stuttgart with 2-1 and is now three points in the lead heading to the last matchday before the winter break. VFB was playing one hour with only ten players as Cristian Molinaro saw the yellow-red card in minute 30 after two attacks against Munich´s Arjen Robben.
The games between Hanover 96 and Bayer 04 Leverkusen as well as between Mainz and Hamburger SV ended in goalless draws.
Former third placed Borussia Moenchengladbach surprisingly lost 1-0 against FC Augsburg. Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker scored the winning goal.
Schalke 04 won the Friday night match against Hertha BSC Berlin with 2-1 and surpassed Gladbach in chart as the new number three.
TSG Hoffenheim won 2-0 in Nuremberg with a convincing performance and ended the dry period. TSG´s Vedad Ibisevic scored both goals.
In the “Nordderby” Wolfsburg had not the slightest chance as Werder Bremen crushed them with 4-1. Sokratis, Claudio Pizarro, Markus Rosenberg and Marko Arnautovic scored for Bremen.
Cologne won 4-0 against SC Freiburg. Lukas Podolski and Christian Clemens scored twice each to secure the win. Especially the 3-0 was worth been seen as Clemes put a corner kick directly in the long corner.
On Tuesday the new scheduled match between Cologne and Mainz 05 will be played as it could not take place on matchday 13.
