Preliminary German EC-team announced

German national team head coach Joachim Loew announced the preliminary team for European Championship on Monday (May 7). Four of the 27 players will be dismissed until the official announcement on May 29. Eight players from Bayern Munich are in the team, five from champion Borussia Dortmund.

Forwards:

Cacau (VfB Stuttgart), Mario Gomez (Bayern Munich) und Miroslav Klose (Lazio Rom).

Midfielders:

Mesut Oezil, Sami Khedira (both Real Madrid), Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger (alle Bayern München), Marco Reus (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Mario Goetze, Ilkay Guendogan, Sven Bender (all three Borussia Dortmund), Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen), Andre Schuerrle (Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Draxler (Schalke 04) und Lukas Podolski (1. FC Cologne).

Defenders:

Jerome Boateng, Holger Badstuber, Philipp Lahm (all Bayern Munich), Per Mertesacker (FC Arsenal London), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04) und Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund).

Goal keepers:

Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Tim Wiese (Werder Bremen) und Ron-Robert Zieler (Hanover 96).
