„Revierderby“ on matchday eight
The Bundesliga is back from the short break and starts off again with the most prestigious derby in German football: Dortmund meet Schalke. BVB could surpass S04 with a victory. FC Bayern meanwhile will face Fortuna Duesseldorf, HSV encounter Stuttgart on Sunday an Gladbach will try to steal some points in Bremen on Saturday night.
Matchday eight will be host to the highly anticipated “Revierderby”. Dortmund will receive nemesis Schalke 04 on Saturday. When those two meet it is usually more than football. The deep rivalry between BVB and S04 seeks its same in Bundesliga. Dortmund will have to substitute Kuba who is going to be missing for several weeks after tearing his syndesmosis ligament. Hummels, Guendogan and Bender are back in training and can hope for an appearance.
Schalke are leading BVB in chart with two points and are only beaten by FC Bayern Munich this season. Both teams will have a strong week as Schalke will meet Arsenal in London and BVB will receive Real Madrid, both on Wednesday.
FC Bayern Munich are able to make history on Saturday by winning eight out of eight to start off a season. No team in history ever did that. The opponent Fortuna Duesseldorf lost their first match this season against Mainz 05 last matchday.
Borussia Moenchengladbach served Eintracht Frankfurt their first defeat this season on matchday seven after being crushed by BVB with 5-0 the week before. This weekend Gladbach will face Werder Bremen on their home turf. Werder lost their last match with 1-3 against FC Augsburg.
Frankfurt will meet Hanover on Saturday. 96 recently managed to draw against Dortmund after being one behind in a strong Bundesliga match. Bayer 04 Leverkusen will face off with Mainz 05 and SC Freiburg will be received by VFL Wolfsburg. Felix Magath´s team had a horrible season so far and is on second to last position in chart.
Tim Wiese will make his comeback when Greuther Fuerth will play in Sinsheim against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Friday night. The keeper was criticized more than once for his several mistakes during the first matches for his new employer.
1. FC Nuremberg will meet Augsburg on Sunday and the match between Hamburger SV and VFB Stuttgart will round up matchday eight. HSV is on the comeback trail since Rafael Van der Vaart arrived in the Northern city. Thorsten Fink lost both his duels with Stuttgart but VFB are in deep trouble sitting on position 15 at the moment.
