Slomka with perfect start
Newly-signed HSV coach Mirko Slomka started his new engagement in Hamburg perfectly as his club beat favorite Borussia Dortmund with 3:0. Meanwhile Leverkusen and Schalke also failed to win their matches which enabled FC Bayern Munich to increase their advantage in chart furthermore. 19 points separate them already from the pack.
Hamburger SV are looking forward to intense weeks as many duels with direct competitors in relegation struggle are lying ahead. This weekend they gained the badly needed confidence for the upcoming tasks as they beat Borussia Dortmund 3:0 in the first match of new head coach Mirko Slomka. Especially the often missed fighting spirit made the difference in the game. Next week they will face Werder Bremen.
FC Bayern Munich meanwhile crushed Hanover 96 seemingly easy with 4:0 to increase their lead in chart furthermore as Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04 also failed to win their matches. Leverkusen lost against VfL Wolfsburg with 1:3 while Schalke and Mainz drew without scoring a goal on Friday night already.
Braunschweig losing in Nuremberg
Eintracht Braunschweig lost their game in Nuremberg despite being one man more for most of the match and being 1:0 in Front at half time. 1. FC Nuremberg turned things around with two quick goals after the break and Club keeper Raphael Schaefer saved two penalties in one game to secure their fourth win in fifth match in second leg of the season.
Borussia Moenchengladbach meanwhile drew 2:2 against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim despite being two in front. Hertha BSC Berlin beat VfB Stuttgart with 2:1 and FC Augsburg beat SC Freiburg in a strong match with 4:2. Berlin and FCA therefore underline their ambitions for Europa League as they stabilize their positions in chart. The match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen on Sunday ended 0:0.
