The Spanish national team is this year´s Euro champion. The “Furia Roja” demolished Italy in fashion with 4-0 and managed to secure the third straight international title – a record for eternity. Italy fought with all they had but in the end were hopelessly inferior.

The Spanish celebrate for the third straight time.

The European Championship 2012 in Poland and Ukraine is over and Spain is the winner. The team of Vicente del Bosque crushed Italy with 4-0 in the final and demonstrated its superior play. For the first hour Italy were in the game despite being 0-2 behind. They attacked the Spanish early to sabotage their build up play which worked quiet well except twice.

In minute 14 Iniesta´s world class pass enabled Cesc Fabregas to chip the ball in where Da Silva headed the 1-0. Italy tried to fight back and had some more or less good opportunities but another Genius moment this time from Spain´s Xavi made Jordi Alba appear totally free in front of Italy´s keeper Buffon. The newly contracted Barcelona player stayed cool and increased the lead to 2-0.

After the break Italy was unlucky as the just sent on Thiago Motta was injured four minutes onto the field. Italian coach Cesare Prandelli had already substituted three times and was forced to leave his team play with only ten from minute 60 on. After that Spain let no doubt who was in charge at the field and controlled the match completely.

Fernando Torres scored the 3-0 after another brilliant Xavi pass in minute 84 and assisted the 4-0 of Mata in minute 88 to secure the title and himself the goal-getter trophy as he scored as much as Ronaldo and Gomez but needed less time to do so.
