Thrilling run for Europa League
Despite some decisions in German Bundesliga already made, there are other questions still exciting the fans. The point difference between fourth placed Schalke and eight placed Hamburger SV is only at two points right now as HSV, Frankfurt and Gladbach all won their games on matchday 30. Meanwhile the final test for UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday and Wednesday went rather well for Dortmund and Bayern.

HSV player Rafael van der Vaart had a lot influence on their 2-1-victory over Duesseldorf as the new team leader in Hamburg scored twice.
FC Bayern are the champions of 50th Bundesliga season in 2012/2013. Dortmund will most likely finish second right ahead of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Greuther Fuerth´s chances of staying in League one are on a pretty low level. But other questions in Bundesliga concerning Europa League and the fourth place, that enables to play Champions League qualification games, are still to decide.
Hamburger SV beat Fortuna Duesseldorf with 2-1 at the weekend, Borussia Moenchengladbach defeated FC Augsburg already on Friday night with 1-0 and Eintracht Frankfurt won the match with fourth placed Schalke 04 on Saturday afternoon with the same result, thanks to second keeper Oka Nikolov having a brilliant day saving a penalty and several good opportunities of Schalke.
Schalke are sitting on fourth place with 46 points with SC Freiburg, despite loosing 1-2 against VFB Stuttgart on Sunday, and Eintracht Frankfurt right behind them with 45. Gladbach and HSV are also not far away as they have 44 points each at the moment. A thrilling season final seems to be bound to occur.
No movement in relegation struggle
Most teams in relegation struggle lost their matches this weekend. After Duesseldorf and Augsburg it was TSG 1899 Hoffenheim´s turn to loose. The TSG got seriously crushed by Bayer 04 Leverkusen with 0-5. Only Greuther Fuerth won their match with 1-0 against 1. FC Nuremberg on Sunday, but this victory might be coming too late as they are sitting six points behind Hoffenheim (24 points) and nine behind FCA and the 15th place that would enable to play the relegation matches with third place finisher of second Bundesliga. Duesseldorf with 30 points are not yet saved either and Werder Bremen after loosing their home game against VFL Wolfsburg with 0-3 on Friday night are also not yet out of the woods.
Final tests mastered
The two German top teams showed no signs of cutting back days before their important matches in UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Borussia Dortmund beat Mainz 05 with 2-0 with Robert Lewandowski scoring in the 12th game straight and were dominating the game more than the result might lead to believe. Lewandowski got a hit on the upper thigh though and his ability to play against Real Madrid on Wednesday is in question at the moment.
FC Bayern Munich seem to be unchallenged by their national tasks at the moment. Under the week they beat Wolfsburg with 6-1 in semi-finals of DFB Pokal. The same result was on the score boeard after 90 minutes against Hanover 96 on Saturday despite playing on their grounds. FCB are no ready to face the other FCB on Tuesday night in CL when Lionel Messi and his fellow team mates of FC Barcelona will be guests in Munich´s Allianz Arena.
